Alright alright alright! Wew! Without further ado, here is my collection of final works for the TASMANAi project with @tasmania, along with the initial piece.
Been a while since the kick-off, so to reiterate, prompts were sent in to a selection of very talented Tasmanian artists, whom I was very fortunate to be among. Thousands of people sent them in, we had around 350 or so to choose from, and selected entries won original artworks! No AI being used in the production βΊοΈπ
I inevitably chose a bunch of prompts focussed on Tasmanian fauna, up to all sorts of shenanigans/getting back at us pesky humans.
Such fun putting these pieces together, big thanks to @tasmania getting me involved in the project and to @bmf_australia for the excellent campaign. Congrats to all the winners! Hopefully you enjoy my interpretations of your prompts βοΈπ
1. Seagulls go into battle for a chip in Hobart
2. A scaled, writhing creature emerging from the murky depths of the Cataract Gorge in Launceston
3. A turbo chook gleefully rides a penny farthing on The Nut
4. Getting swallowed by a giant Oyster along the larapuna / Bay of Fires area
5. A currawong hiking the Overland track, with tiny humans trying to steal its lunch at Cradle Mountain
6. A giant slimy salamander in the streets of Salamanca

Very chuffed to be called upon once again to draw whip up some fun illustrations for the @cygnet_folk_festival, and their upcoming 2025 edition of the festival. Always one of my favourite jobs and a lovely crew to work with on. The flora caught in the whirlwind represents the various countries that acts hail from. π»βΊοΈπͺ #cygnet #cygnetfolkfestival #tasmania #illustration
After the success of the Ducks of Tasmania booklet we’ve decided to put together a little extra something special…
Pre-orders are now open for our 2025 Ducks of Tasmania Wall Calendar!
There will be a limited run of these, with pre-orders wrapping up around mid-June and deliveries going out August/September. Simply head over to the pre-order site through the link below, fill in a few details, and we’ll be back in touch in August for payment and deliveries. $35 each, with additional costs for postage if requested.
All profits from our sales will go back into printing more Ducks of Tasmania booklets, so we can help get the word out about how to better look after our native ducks and their environment.

We have such a wealth of artistic talent here in Tasmania. It’s a pretty gosh darn inspiring place.
Myself and a bunch of other amazing artists have teamed up with Discover @tasmania to take the fight to the robots. Introducing TASMANAi, real art, made by real Tasmanians.
Head over to the website, submit a rad and creative prompt, and you might just receive an artwork based on it by yours truly or one of the other artists in the mail!

Very proud day on Tuesday. A most excellent booklet that I was fortunate enough to be brought on as the illustrator for, “Ducks of Tasmania”, was finally launched.
The booklet was excellently designed by Poco People, created in hand by the Pacific Black Duck Conservation Group, Derwent Estuary Program and BirdLife Tasmania along with the help of several local councils.
The book aims to help Tasmanians identify their native (and some not so native… ) ducks, providing a handy resource of info about the best places to find, and the best ways to care for our native ducks.
You can pick it up from most greater Hobart councils and various other outlets as they make their way out into the wild.
As the mighty ducks would say, ‘Quack! Quack! Quack!’.
*Many of our native ducks don’t actually quack π€―

*UPDATE* All available commission spots taken up. Keep an eye out for future ones. I'm working on something to make things such as this more easily accessible too. Will likely feed it into my buymeacoffee site - buymeacoffee.com/samlyne

It’s been an exciting and varied year of projects for me, none more so than having some of my illustrations minted into gold and silver!
With the launch of @hobartmint, you’ll find a number of artworks featured on gold & silver coins (and soon bars) by myself and excellent Tasmanian artists, @tomohernia @bethemily @drawingrosie available for purchase - www.hobartmint.com
I’ve been so tardy with my posts of late! I guess there’s been a lot of work (and holidaying) on the go this year π
Here’s one I did of our fine little city for the Mayor of Hobart @annreyno last year that I neglected to share. Delegates from our Japanese sister city were recently presented with some prints of it during their visit too ππ #illustration #drawing #hobart #tasmania #australia #kunanyi #mtwellington
